Hengistbury Head

Hengistbury Head is a dramatic headland situated to the south of Christchurch Harbour. It is an outstanding site for wildlife and archaeology and offers beautiful beaches and views across the New Forest, Isle of Wight and Purbecks. Easily accessible and there is a land train linking to Mudeford Spit, and ferries from there to Mudeford Quay. Go past the golf course to the second car park if you plan to take the land train or use the cafe and toilet facilities.

Quomps Splash Park

Right beside the river in Christchurch (And next door to The Captains Club) this is a great spot to head to if you have children and it's a hot day! As well as the splash zone, ideal for all ages, there's also a play park and a kiosk selling ice creams, drinks and spare swimming nappies! Further along from the Quomp is a mini golf course and along the river you can hire boats or just go on one of the little boat ferries to take you down the river. Christchurch BH23 1BU

Oasis Fun

This is a great place to head to if it's raining! It's in the centre of Bournemouth and has an indoor crazy golf course, a soft play area, a small bowling alley, an arcade and an American diner and bar. It's ideal for younger children. Glen Fern Rd, Bournemouth BH1 2LZ

Just next door to Oasis Fun is Laser Quest, a laser tag centre.

Mr Mulligans

This is also an indoor crazy golf course but it's a lot larger with at least three 'courses' and it's great for older children, but is also focused on adults as they offer a waitress service after a certain time where waitresses will take your drinks order while you're on the course. You're able to take your drinks round with you as you play and they have a nice menu of food too.

Mr Mulligans is in the BH2 complex near Bournemouth Square and the BIC. The BH2 complex also has a great Odeon cinema (don't book anything but the amazing double lounger seats!!).

Rock Reef Activity Centre

At the end of the pier in Bournemouth, this is great for both adults and older kids! There's indoor rock climbing, indoor caving, a high wire obstacle course and a zip line that takes you from a tower on the end of the pier and over the water onto the beach. Definitely recommended!
